The firmware of a Netgear router should be regularly updated whenever a new update of a device is available. A new firmware version gets automatically popped up on the routerlogin.net homepage. You just have to click on the upgrade button and if the firmware version will be available, a dialogue box appears on the screen prompting you to click the “Yes” tab to start the firmware upgrade process.
